About our Dojo
The Pit is more than a dojo—it’s a family. Here, you’ll learn and perfect Morganti Ju-Jitsu while finding a place to relax and leave behind life’s stresses. We prioritize student growth, maintaining top standards with a legacy of success in competitions and gradings. Our Dojo is currently the top achiever for club competitions and gradings. As of 2024, we have four black belts in our club! Our values are simple: enjoy the journey, play by the rules, respect others, and uphold good sportsmanship. Whether you’re here to compete or just to have fun, you’ll find dignity, respect, and camaraderie at The Pit.
About our Sensei
Our sensei; Willie Heath, began his Morganti Ju-Jitsu journey at the age of 6, inspired by his father’s passion for martial arts. He soon developed a deep love for the sport that has spanned over 21 years. By 16, he began instructing and has since taught at multiple schools, continuously expanding his skills and knowledge. He later studied human movement science (BA) at NWU, enhancing his understanding of the sport and the human body. During the COVID pandemic, he took the bold step of opening his own dojo to share his expertise.
A black belt at 17, our sensei is a multiple-time National Champion and has won gold in three world championship events (2x Morganti & 1x United Nations). His teaching philosophy emphasizes proper technique, respect, and enjoyment. He creates a learning environment where students feel both comfortable and motivated, ensuring that training is fun, engaging, and impactful.
